The four kinds of presence

• Editorial recommendations: chosen by the editor because a place is real, open, and worth a visit. No payment can buy one, and payment never guarantees one.
• Free directory listings: every verified business gets one at no charge, with its name, address, and category placement.
• Verified businesses: a listing that has passed the five checks (real, open, accurate, correctly placed, useful). Verification itself is not for sale.
• Paid featured placements: clearly labeled featured slots purchased by a business. They sit apart from editorial picks and cannot change an editorial review.

What the paid packages include

The current packages are Free Basic Listing (no payment), Essential at $49 per month, Featured Partner at $99 per month, and Community Leader at $499 per month. Each paid package is per city and per month. Multi-city placement is priced by request through the advertising inquiry form; there is no annual checkout.

Per-city pricing

Pricing is per city, which means a placement covers exactly the city a business names at checkout. To appear in more than one city, businesses request a custom package before checking out rather than paying the same fee city by city blindly.

Limits on featured placement

Community Leader placement is limited to three businesses per city, with no duplicate business categories, so the site's most prominent slots stay genuinely useful to readers. Other featured tiers are also kept proportionate to each city's directory.

Payment does not buy editorial

Payment does not guarantee a positive editorial recommendation, a place on an editorial list, or a review of any kind. Paid placements are labeled and confined to their placement. A business that pays and disappoints will be reported on the same standard as any other.
