The rules the guide holds itself to: what gets written, how it gets checked, and the line between an editor's pick and a paid placement.
CityGuideGA is independent
CityGuideGA.com is an independent community resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official website of any city, county, school district, or government agency. Editorial decisions are made by the editor, for readers, without direction from any advertiser, vendor, or municipal body.
Information is checked but can change
The guide verifies what it can against official sources, city calendars, and on-the-ground checks, and it corrects what it gets wrong. At the same time, local information moves: hours change, menus change, and events reschedule. Information is believed to be accurate but is not guaranteed and is subject to change without notice.
Official matters go to the official source
When a decision actually depends on a fact, this guide says so plainly: confirm school districts with the district, confirm an event with the organizer, confirm a city service with the city. CityGuideGA is a starting point, never the final authority on an official matter.
Paid placements are clearly identified
Where paid placement exists, it is labeled as paid: featured business placements, sponsored slots, and the Community Leader program are identified as such and sit apart from editorial picks. Editorials and paid placements never share a space that looks editorial.
Payment never buys a recommendation
Payment does not guarantee a positive editorial recommendation. A paid placement buys a clearly labeled spot: placement, profile depth, or features. It never buys a good write-up, a five-star tone, or a spot in an editorial list.
Verification before publication
Business listings must pass the verification standard before they run: the business is real, currently open, contact details are accurate, the correct city is assigned, and the listing is useful and locally relevant. Corrections are free and are checked the same way.
Corrections
When the guide gets something wrong, the correction is made and, where the error mattered, noted. Send corrections through the contact page's Suggest a Correction link, and they get checked before they change the site.
Who writes it
