Alpharetta sits in northern Fulton County at the top of GA-400, about 25 miles north of downtown Atlanta. The city's identity is divided between the walkable core (downtown Alpharetta, Avalon, the green) and the office and tech campuses along the highway. How bad is the GA-400 commute?
Southbound to Buckhead in the morning is the classic backup, and the return north in the afternoon matches it. The reverse commute is a different, easier road.
