Snellville is a suburban Gwinnett city about thirty minutes east of Atlanta, and most of its best days start at the Towne Green and the Grove built beside it. This is the honest shortlist: the civic lawn, the parks, the market, and the one big outing everyone drives to.

1. The Towne Green

The city square in front of City Hall on Oak Road, with the sundial, the veterans memorial, and the market stalls through the warm months. It anchors the city's event calendar.

2. The Grove at Towne Center

The mixed-use district beside the green: the Towne Center Market food hall, the Crooked Can taproom, restaurants, the Gwinnett library branch, and a concert lawn. It is Snellville's new downtown, and it works.

3. The Towne Green Farmers Market

Saturday mornings through the summer with roughly forty vendors of produce, meats, honey, and baked goods. A smaller off-season market runs on select Saturdays.

4. T.W. Briscoe Park

The flagship city park on Sawyer Parkway, roughly 95 acres with a paved loop around the perimeter, a fishing lake, a pool in season, playgrounds, tennis courts, and a community garden.

5. Snellville Days

The two-day arts and crafts festival in early May at Briscoe, running since 1974, with vendors, a parade, and live entertainment. It is the city's biggest weekend of the year.

6. Stone Mountain Park

The granite mountain with the carving, the Skyride, hiking trails, and the scenic railroad, about ten minutes west of Snellville. It is the default big outing for the whole east side.

7. Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary

The wildlife park a few miles out with a bison herd, peacocks, wallabies, and other animals, a dependable stop with younger kids.

8. Lenora Park

The county park south of the city with fields, playgrounds, and open space on the Walton-line side.

9. Bethesda Park

The county sports park and event grounds west on Scenic Highway, where the big fields and the weekend game schedule live.

10. Dinner and a show

The local table runs from Provinos to The Main Street Restaurant on the highway, and the New London Theatre stages plays and musicals a step off the green.
