Warner Robins is a city in Houston County, set on the south side of middle Georgia. It grew from scratch around Robins Air Force Base during World War II and never stopped.

Warner Robins began as the railroad whistle-stop of Wellston and was renamed in 1942 for Brigadier General Augustine Warner Robins, a pioneer of military aviation logistics. The city incorporated in 1943.
It exists because of Robins Air Force Base, built in 1941, which remains one of the largest industrial installations in Georgia and the city's defining employer. Warner Robins today is the aviation and military hub of middle Georgia.
