For New Residents
The first month in Snellville is a short list: set up the utility accounts, register the vehicles in Gwinnett, get the library card, and learn the Town Green, because that is where the city does its socializing.
None of it is complicated, and most of the first month is best spent between the downtown and the parks.
Set up first
The essentials, in order
Water and sewer follow the city and county utility arrangements for your address, and electricity, gas, and internet are standard provider choices. The city of Snellville publishes its department contact points on its official site.
Register
Vehicles, voting, and the library
Vehicle registration runs through the Georgia Department of Driver Services and the Gwinnett County tag office. Voter registration goes through the Gwinnett County elections office. The library card comes from Gwinnett County Public Library, and the Snellville branch at 2245 Wisteria Drive is the closest door.
First month
Learning the city in a week
The Town Green
The green in front of City Hall on Oak Road is the civic center, hosting the farmers market Saturdays in season.
The Main Street block
The restaurants and the local tables along Main Street East and West are the downtown dining scene.
The park map
T. W. Briscoe Park and the county parks of South Gwinnett, Lenora, and Bethesda hold the green space.
