Flowery Branch Government
Flowery Branch runs under a mayor-council form of government. A directly elected mayor and a five-member city council set policy, and a professional city manager and city clerk run the administration.
The city was founded in 1874 and incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in the early 1900s. Council meetings are held the first and third Thursday of each month.

The city runs its own parks, the downtown and the depot, and the core administration. The county side handles the schools through the Hall County School District, property tax, elections, and the county parks including Alberta Banks.
