For New Residents
The first month in Flowery Branch is a short list: set up the utility accounts, register the vehicles in Hall County, get the library card, and learn the downtown depot block, because that is where the city does its socializing.
None of it is complicated, and most of the first month is best spent at the bay park and the lake.
Set up first
The essentials, in order
Water and sewer follow the city and county utility arrangements for your address, and electricity, gas, and internet are standard provider choices. The city of Flowery Branch publishes its department contact points on its official site.
Register
Vehicles, voting, and the library
Vehicle registration runs through the Georgia Department of Driver Services and the Hall County tag office. Voter registration goes through the Hall County elections office. The library card comes from the Hall County Library System, and the Spout Springs branch on Spout Springs Road is the closest door.
First month
Learning the city in a week
The depot block
The historic depot and the downtown around it hold the restaurants, the farmers market, and the museum.
The lake side
Flowery Branch Bay Park and the county and Corps parks on the shore carry the swimming and boating access to Lake Lanier.
The corridors
Spout Springs Road and Winder Highway carry the grocery, the gyms, and the everyday errands.
