Hoschton Government
Hoschton runs under a mayor-council form of government. A mayor and council members are elected at large to four-year, staggered terms, and a city manager runs the day-to-day administration. The current charter was established in 2021.
The city was incorporated on December 18, 1891. Meetings are public and on a regular schedule.

What Hoschton runs, and what Jackson keeps
The city runs its own core administration, the downtown and the depot, and the city parks. The county side handles the schools through the Jackson County School System, property tax, elections, and the county parks including Sell's Mill and Gum Springs.
