For New Residents
The first month in Hoschton is a short list: set up the utility accounts, register the vehicles in Jackson County, get the library card across the line, and learn the depot square, because that is where the city does its socializing.
None of it is complicated, and most of the first month is best spent at the festivals and the parks.
Set up first
The essentials, in order
Water and sewer follow the city and county utility arrangements for your address, and electricity, gas, and internet are standard provider choices. The city of Hoschton publishes its department contact points on its official site.
Register
Vehicles, voting, and the library
Vehicle registration runs through the Georgia Department of Driver Services and the Jackson County tag office. Voter registration goes through the Jackson County elections office. The library card comes from the Piedmont Regional Library System, and the Braselton-West Jackson library in Braselton is the closest door.
First month
Learning the city in a week
The depot square
The restored depot and the City Square are the heart of the city, with the restaurants, the market, and the festival green.
The parks
Hoschton Park and the county parks like Sell's Mill and Gum Springs hold the green space.
The sports complex
The Mulberry River Sports Complex on Highway 211 carries the baseball and soccer fields and the indoor turf.
