Government of Johns Creek
Johns Creek is a mayor-council city with a professional city manager. The mayor and six council members, all elected at-large to staggered four-year terms, set policy and pass the budget, and a city manager runs day-to-day operations.
City Hall is at 11360 Lakefield Drive, and council meetings are open to the public, with agendas posted on the city's site before each meeting.

Mayor, council, and manager
The mayor chairs the council and is elected citywide. The six council members, Posts 1 through 6, are also elected at-large, meaning every voter in the city votes on every post, rather than by district. Terms run four years on a staggered schedule. The council appoints the city manager, who leads the departments and carries out council policy day to day.

Police

Where the decisions happen
The city council holds regular public meetings at city hall, and the agenda, packet, and live stream are posted on the city's site ahead of each session. Like most Georgia cities, Johns Creek runs a speakers list for public comment, and the kickoff budget and zoning items draw the biggest rooms.

- 911 call-taking and dispatch run through the county's emergency services center.
