For New Residents
The first month in Lawrenceville is a short list: set up the utility accounts, register the vehicles in Gwinnett, get the library card, and learn the downtown square, because that is where the county seat does its civic life.
None of it is complicated, and most of the first month is best spent between the square and the county parks.
Set up first
The essentials, in order
Water and sewer follow the city and county utility arrangements for your address, and electricity, gas, and internet are standard provider choices. The city of Lawrenceville publishes its department contact points on its official site.
Register
Vehicles, voting, and the library
Vehicle registration runs through the Georgia Department of Driver Services and the Gwinnett County tag office. Voter registration goes through the Gwinnett County elections office, based in the city. The library card comes from Gwinnett County Public Library, and the Lawrenceville branch at 1001 Lawrenceville Highway is the closest door.

Learning the city in a week
The downtown square
The historic square holds the courthouse, the restaurants, the museum, and the farmers market Saturdays in season.
The county seat layer
The county government, courts, and the library headquarters are all in the city, so county errands rarely leave the city.
The park map
Rhodes Jordan and Collins Hill parks hold the green space, and Tribble Mill adds the big lake-side park on the south side.
