About Lilburn
Lilburn was founded in 1890 by the Seaboard Air Line Railway and named for the railroad's general superintendent, Lilburn Trigg Myers, one of the few towns named for a man's first name.
A 1920s fire and the hard years trimmed its early prosperity, but Old Town survived and rebuilt, and today the restored storefronts, the depot heritage, and the hourly trains give Lilburn a small town that the growth around it never erased.

The Seaboard line put the town down in 1890 and named it for its general superintendent, and the depot district grew around the tracks. Incorporated in 1910, Lilburn kept its center through the hard years, and Old Town is the restored storefront district where the trains still run.
