Getting around Lilburn
Lilburn's road map is the east-side layout: Lawrenceville Highway (US 29) and the Indian Trail corridor carry the traffic, with I-85 a short drive west for the long trips.
The railroad that founded the town still runs through Old Town, which shapes the downtown crossing pattern, and transit runs through the Ride Gwinnett county system.

Lawrenceville Highway
US 29 runs the city's commercial spine, and the Indian Trail corridor and Five Forks roads handle the residential traffic. I-85 is a short drive west for the metro trips.
The railroad
The Seaboard line still runs through Old Town hourly, which means the crossing signals are part of the downtown rhythm and the crossing waits are part of the route math.
Transit
The county system, and the honest car note
Ride Gwinnett's county routes cover the east side, and the MARTA rail at Doraville requires a drive that is part of the Atlanta commute. The honest note for most Lilburn households: the car does the commuting, and the congestion concentrates on Highway 29 at the school and shopping hours.
