Library service in Atlanta splits by county: the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System serves the Fulton side with its Central Library downtown, and DeKalb County Public Library serves the DeKalb side.

The systems

Two county systems, one city

The Central Library downtown is the Atlanta-Fulton system's flagship; branches serve every quadrant. DeKalb County Public Library handles the DeKalb side of the city limits.

Register with the library that serves your county, bring ID and proof of address, and you are in. Most branches run story time, computers, meeting rooms, and digital lending.
