How the city works · Gwinnett County
Suwanee Government
Suwanee runs under a council-manager form of government. A city council of six members, including the mayor, sets policy, and a professionally trained city manager runs the day-to-day administration.
The city was incorporated on February 25, 1949, and has operated under this structure since. Meetings are public and on a regular schedule.

What Suwanee runs, and what Gwinnett keeps
The city runs its own parks and the Town Center, its police and public works, and the civic calendar that fills the amphitheater. The county side handles the schools through the Gwinnett clusters, property tax, elections, and the large county parks including George Pierce and Peachtree Ridge.
Meetings
Public meetings on a regular schedule
Council meetings are open to the public and run on a regular schedule published by the city. The agenda, the meeting calendar, and the department contacts live on the official city of Suwanee website.
