Sequoyah Regional Library System

Libraries Serving Ellijay

One library serves Ellijay: the Gilmer County Library, a branch of the Sequoyah Regional Library System, which covers Cherokee, Gilmer, and Pickens counties. It sits at 268 Calvin Jackson Drive on the south side of town.

A Gilmer County card opens the whole system, and the branches up and down the corridor share one catalog.

The system

One card, three counties

Sequoyah Regional Library System runs eight branches across Cherokee, Gilmer, and Pickens counties, from the Ball Ground and Hickory Flat branches to the county libraries in Jasper and Ellijay. A card from any branch works at all of them, and holds travel between branches.

The system book drops, e-resources, and programs are the reason the library is the single best free resource in Ellijay. Card sign-up is at the branch with proof of a county address.

The new residents page lists the library card among the first six things to do after the move.
